Oxford Very Short Introductions

Publication Series Design

For this brief I was tasked with redesigning a set of covers for The Very Short Introductions series from Oxford University Press, which contains hundreds of titles in almost every subject area.

Seeking to communicate a sense of academia and vast knowledge within my redesign, I have utilised a blank sheet of paper as a symbol, where themes, ideas, research, and stories can be expressed, with endless possibilities for new information. By distorting different shapes through simple folds in the paper, I have generated a series of entirely new shapes. As this is such a straightforward and versatile method, this design system has the potential to create hundreds of iterations, which all remain connected through a distinct, geometric style.
